The International Civil Engineering Symposium (ICES) will act as a platform to exchange ideas and scientific knowledge through intense professional interaction among the aspiring civil engineering researchers who are inclined towards discovering, learning and innovating new domains. We believe this will lead to fruitful germination of collaborative research work.

CHALLENGES IN CIVIL ENGINEERING.
The word ‘Challenges’ in the theme represents both current and future challenges in civil engineering. The major global challenges of the 21st century are Urbanization, habitat, environment, infrastructure, and sustainability.
Civil Engineering has a vast scope for research and innovation. It has been in existence since BC times. Civil engineering practices involve multitasking where there is a high probability of challenges. There have been many challenges in the civil engineering field which are either currently being faced or would be faced in the future. It has lots of challenges that are not solved yet. We need to address those problems and think about how to solve them. We have to work on them. We need solutions to overcome these challenges to create a better world.
Civil engineers plan, design, construct and operate facilities that are essential to modern life. Now the civil engineering alters the era of development by the implementation of new innovative technologies and overcoming the challenges to make a better world. Today's world is undergoing vast changes and the complex multi-tasks create unique challenges for civil engineers of every subdiscipline. These challenges are often very complex in nature and require integrated approaches to solve.
The grand nature challenges are established through an extensive literature review that highlights the challenge’s economic, environmental, and societal impacts.
By keeping our theme so, we are not restricting the inputs to any particular topic. We encourage everyone to participate in our symposium. In the real world of civil engineering “Challenges” exist in every discipline of civil engineering. We can conclude this is a broad topic for research and will also avid the interest to go deep in the particular fields of research.
Thus Symposium established a platform for every person doing research in civil engineering to present their work in the Symposium. We also encourage you to present your work if you feel it doesn’t fall under this year’s theme.
